Our first day of real vacation started with changing hotels. We took a taxi to the new place, stowed our bags, and walked to the nearby National Archeology Museum.
Wowsa.
Outstanding.
Greece, as you know, has a rich archeological history. It's crazy how much archeologists have discovered here. I point you to Wikipedia for the quick history, and here are my favorite finds from our 3.5 hours – woefully inadequate time – in the museum. These are in no particular order, and I wish I could offer some education about it all, but ain't no way.

I was stunned when I turned a corner and came upon these sherds from neolithic-era Dimini (~5300-3300 BC).
New Mexicans, don't these sherds look familiar?
The mighty Poseidon
The Big Guy: Zeus
So many Aphrodites!
I'm a sucker for the critters.
Notice this unfortunate gentleman's fused spine.
The language geek in me was jazzed to come across early writing. How about a inventory list on a clay tablet?
Afterwards, Greek salad and gyros for dinner.
And a rooftop sunset to end the day!
